Hair transplantation is the process of transferring healthy hair follicles taken from the donor region to the non-hair area by special techniques. Hair follicles from the donor area are defined as grafts. The collection of grafts from the donor area in hair transplantation is done with different techniques according to the hair structure of the person. One of the most preferred techniques is FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) technique. This technique is done using a special pen with the latest system Sapphire Tipped. It is one of the most preferred methods because  it is easy and convenient to apply and does not leave any marks.

Sapphire FUE Technique Stages

After the necessary medical controls for hair transplantation, the patient is photographed from every angle before the treatment, the areas where the graft will be taken and transplantation and the front hair line (if the front part is to be transplanted) are evaluated and the region to be transplanted is evaluated. After that, the patient’s hair is then shaved shorter than 1 mm. Donor area is determined and local anesthesia is applied. Because of no incision in the area where the hair will be taken, no pain is felt after the anesthesia effect has passed. The only pain that can be felt can be feel during the injection of the needle during anesthesia.

After completing the preparation of the grafts to be transplanted, the hair transplantation process is started. The area where the hair follicles are taken is covered with a sterile bandage when the operation is completed.

The first 3 days are particularly important for this operation. The first day is the day of hair transplantation. The third day; we make the first washing process and explain to the patient in detail how to do the washing for the next 8 days and give the necessary drugs and solutionsIf our patients wants to help from our clinic , they can request help for the washing process during the 8 days. After 10 days, the crusts can be poured and a significant improvement in the area can be observed.

One of the most important advantages of the sapphire-tipped FUE technique is that the recovery period after hair transplantation is very comfortable for the patient. The patient must be very careful against impacts in the planting area. Activities such as sea and pool should be avoided for 15 days after planting and a hat should be used for 1 month to protect from the sun.

During the recovery period, the newly transplanted hair follicles will grow like 2-3 weeks and then fall out. This process, also called shock shedding, is quite normal; In a few weeks, the hair begins to grow again. The front side becomes natural in 6-8 months and peaks extend in 8-12 months.
